OUR FOCUS ON YOUTH & SPORT
Special Olympics Canada Winter Games
At Black Diamond Group, we believe that sport is a force for good, and we were proud to support the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in February and March as a sponsor of the Games held in Calgary. Black Diamond Group presented the Snowshoeing competitions and providing modular space to various venues around the city as the official provider of modular space for the games. Gordie Howe CARES Pro-Am Hockey Tournament
In May, several of our team members took part in the Gordie Howe CARES Pro-Am Hockey Tournament once again to support Alzheimer's research and education. The event paid tribute to hockey legend Gordie Howe and his enduring influence on the sport. Our team, the Black Diamond Cutters, competed in the two-day tournament and raised more than $120,000 for this important cause. Read more about our involvement in the tournament,

Rogers Charity Classic
In 2024, we proudly renewed our support for the Rogers Charity Classic, a tournament that drives meaningful change for children and youth charities across Alberta. This year, the event shattered records, raising over $25 million for 293 charities! We are honoured to join other dedicated businesses and organizations contributing to this remarkable success, ultimately making a lasting impact on the lives of young people in our community. CANADA-WIDE UNITED WAY CAMPAIGNS
United Way Campaign
Team members from across Canada joined forces once again to support the United Way in September, raising more than $50,000 through our flagship campaign in Calgary and local efforts in Langley, Ottawa, and Regina.
Days of Caring
Our team members also volunteered their time for various days of service, connected to both our United Way efforts and organized by individual teams. Employees packed sun-safe kits for the Calgary Drop-in and Rehab Centre Society, sorted donations at the Women in Need Society (WINS), participated in a Toy Drive in support of the Salvation Army in Canada’s Saskatoon toy shop and sorted toy donations at The Women’s Centre of Calgary.
OUR DISTINCT BLACK DIAMOND GROUP PROGRAMS
Community Events Units
In 2024, we were proud to continue our Community Events Units initiative. The program provides local community organizations in Alberta, B.C. and Ontario with the use of a 10’x20’ wheeled unit, free of rental cost, at their events. Notably, the Community Events Units were present in Calgary at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games, in Ontario at the Children’s Festival and F1 Canadian Grand Prix, and in B.C. at the Abbotsford Air Show and the Noel Festival Surrey. Employee-Driven Charitable Donations
Another unique Black Diamond community investment initiative is our employee-led Charitable Donations Program, which provides our team members with an opportunity to contribute to their local community by supporting various programs, events and organizations with funds that might not otherwise be available to smaller community groups through larger charitable organizations. In 2024, we supported over 30 organizations across every country we operate in – Canada, the United States and Australia.
BUILDING CAPACITY WITH OUR INDIGENOUS PARTNERS
Our Company is committed to fostering meaningful Indigenous relationships and partnership, built on mutual respect and trust. We know this approach drives shared value for the business and our partners. In 2024, we meaningfully engaged with local communities, through our Indigenous Partnerships, and recognized and amplified initiatives such as the Indigenous Sports Heroes Education Experience (as the proud presenting sponsor), Moose Hide Campaign Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, Orange Shirt Day and more.
Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s Indigenous Sport Heroes Education Experience
In 2024, we proudly entered our fourth year as the presenting sponsor of Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s Indigenous Sport Heroes Education Experience. This initiative aims to educate and inspire both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth, fostering dialogue on equity and inclusion through sport. The digital resource, structured like a book, highlights impactful stories from Indigenous Hall of Famers while honoring the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. In 2024, it reached an estimated 799,875 youth across Canada. Learn more about the resource,

Indigenous Partnership Community Events
Our Indigenous Relations team spent much of the summer in 2024 on the road, visiting with our Indigenous partnership communities and participating in the many culturally rich events and ceremonies. Team members were proud to take part in Pow Wows, Treaty Days, Community Feasts, sports tournaments and much more. APPRECIATION & THANKS
Annually, we intentionally and actively engage our employees in our community-giving efforts through charitable activities, fundraising, and volunteer initiatives like the ones highlighted above. We know we are successful, in large part, because of their commitment and dedication!
As we look ahead to 2025, we remain committed to supporting, elevating, and promoting their efforts with youth, family and sport at the heart of our commitments.
