The Black Diamond team is saddened by the passing of Robert (Bob) G. M. Brawn, former Board member, early investor, respected entrepreneur, community builder, mentor, and friend. Bob passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 89.
Bob was an early investor in Black Diamond and a Director of the Company from before our IPO. He served as Lead Director on Black Diamond's Board from 2010 to 2017, helping guide the Company through its formative period of high growth and rapid scaling. He was known for his business acumen, true entrepreneurship, positive attitude and generosity.
Bob's legacy is defined not only by what he accomplished, but by the impact he had on those around him.

Bob believed in in backing good people and helping them reach their potential. His advice was always thoughtful, practical, and delivered with humility. Those of us who worked closely with him are grateful for his mentorship, friendship, and the lasting influence he had on us both personally and professionally. A proud Calgarian, entrepreneur, and community builder, Bob spent his life creating opportunities for others and giving back to the community he loved.
