Tell us a bit about your career journey at Black Diamond Group:
I started as the Manager of Billing and Payables, and within the next year my title was changed to Financial Operations Manager to better reflect the work I was doing! In November 2023 I was promoted to the General Manager of Settlement (AP, AR, Cash Apps, Collections, Credit and Master Data).
How has the Company, and your leaders and colleagues, supported your growth over the years?
I have been fortunate to have different leaders during my tenure here, but also many colleagues who teach me things all the time and offer their feedback. I am thankful we have such a diverse team who share their experiences, and it really shapes how we operate together! I have been encouraged to be curious, certainly been challenged, and thankfully, given the opportunity to create best practices to support LodgeLink’s growth alongside some incredibly smart folks, while also focusing on my own personal growth and career development. I love that no idea seems too farfetched when it comes to designing or problem solving, and we can be audacious in our approach, so it has been a pretty amazing adventure over the past 3.5 years.
How would you describe the key to your success?
Being curious and open to change, sharing knowledge, and developing a leadership style that focuses on empathy and creating psychological safety within our team. I feel successful when I prioritize the growth and wellbeing of those around me, so that people can thrive, and we can grow together as a team.
Looking back at your career, what moment are you most proud of?
I went to university when I was in my late 20s, and did night school all the way from my Accounting Certificate to my Degree in Business, while working full time throughout – it was equally hard and rewarding.
Tell us a bit about your career journey at Black Diamond Group:
Throughout my career at Black Diamond Group, I’ve had the opportunity to build and lead high-performance teams across corporate, BOXX Modular, WFS, and LodgeLink, collaborating with colleagues across Canada, the U.S., and Australia. Together, we've driven impactful growth, revenue, and business success. Whether it was building LodgeLink from the ground up, repositioning the Company’s brand, or executing global digital marketing strategies, our focus has always been on working collaboratively to achieve shared goals and deliver results. Over the past 11 years, I’ve held roles such as GM Marketing & Communications, VP of Marketing at LodgeLink, and Advisor in various strategic and communications capacities at both Black Diamond Group and LodgeLink.
How has the Company, and your leaders and colleagues, supported your growth over the years?
Leaders and colleagues have been vital in supporting my growth through open communication and alignment with the company’s strategic goals. Their commitment to my development, including career growth and leadership training, has empowered me to build, lead and contribute to high-performing teams that take initiative, deliver impactful results, and create a better way. Our collective effort and shared commitment have been key to achieving our goals and creating meaningful growth and impact across the Company.
How would you describe the key to your success?
Hard work, a growth mindset, and collaborating with a strong and diverse team focused on excellence and a shared mission!
Looking back at your career, what moment are you most proud of?
I’m proud of building LodgeLink from the ground up, the challenges we’ve overcome, and of the remarkable growth and impact of the marketing & communications team across all brands at Black Diamond Group. This journey has been driven by collaboration, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Tell us a bit about your career journey at Black Diamond Group:
I’ve held a variety of roles across almost every division, including an interim stint in LodgeLink and supporting Australia through a controller change. My roles have included Junior Accountant, Business Analyst, Operations Manager, Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance, and Senior Vice President of Finance, among others.
How has the Company, and your leaders and colleagues, supported your growth over the years?
Over the years, my leaders have been instrumental in my development, offering both mentorship and constructive feedback. They recognized my potential early on and consistently challenged me with new responsibilities that stretched my capabilities. Their support through guidance, access to strategic decision-making, and encouragement to take on leadership roles allowed me to expand my skill set beyond just accounting and into broader financial management, business strategy, and leadership. Additionally, the collaborative culture within the company fostered strong relationships with colleagues across departments, allowing me to gain insights into different areas of the business. This cross-functional collaboration has been essential in broadening my perspective and enabling me to make informed, well-rounded decisions.
How would you describe the key to your success?
The key to my success has been continuous learning, adaptability, and building strong relationships. Early on, I realized technical expertise alone wouldn’t set me apart—strategic thinking and evolving skills were essential. I built a strong finance foundation but focused on understanding the broader business, including other departments and market dynamics. This made me a trusted business partner, not just a financial expert. Embracing new challenges and adapting to change helped me grow into my current role as Senior Vice President.
What advice would you give to others who are aspiring to leadership roles?
For those aspiring to leadership roles, my advice would be to focus on a combination of technical expertise, emotional intelligence, and a long-term vision for both personal and organizational growth. Lastly, patience is key. Progressing to a leadership role takes time, but if you focus on continuously improving yourself, building relationships, and aligning your actions with the organization’s goals, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your leadership aspirations.
Tell us a bit about your career journey at Black Diamond Group:
I began my career at BOXX Modular as a Branch Administrator in St. Catharines, ON. After we moved to Stoney Creek in 2008, I transitioned to Inside Sales, then moved to Outside Sales in 2009, helping grow our brand in Ontario. In 2014, I became Branch Manager, and in 2024, I took on the role of GM within our MSS business unit. Leaving BOXX Stoney Creek was a tough decision, as I had been with the company since its early days in Ontario and felt deeply connected to its growth, success, and people. However, this new opportunity has been incredibly rewarding, bringing exciting challenges, new learning experiences, and a talented team to work with every day. It's been a great opportunity to work for both branches.
How has the Company, and your leaders and colleagues, supported your growth over the years?
Black Diamond has always been open with growth opportunities that can be explored. If you are the type of individual that is willing to put in the work, make the required effort and have the determination to succeed, then you can achieve your goals. I have been lucky and have had a consistent leader throughout the years that has been very supportive of all my goals and mentored me so that I was able to learn and growth and ultimately succeed when opportunities arose.
How would you describe the key to your success?
I haven’t found a clear key to success yet, as my definition of success and my goals are always evolving. I’m constantly working to improve myself and open to new challenges. I believe nothing valuable comes without effort. I’m determined and focused when working towards my goals, both for myself and the company. I’m resilient and persistent.
What advice would you give to others who are aspiring to leadership roles?
The advice I would give is to stay focused and be steadfast in what you want. Hard work and determination will yield results.

I have been fortunate to have multiple roles within Black Diamond Group over the past nine and a half years. Roles include Senior Accountant in Energy Services, Senior Accountant in WFS, Manager of Financial Reporting in Corporate to my current role as Operations Controller in WFS. These roles have given me an appreciation and understanding of the business from multiple angles. These roles have challenged me positively while allowing me to grow and add value.
How has the Company, and your leaders and colleagues, supported your growth over the years?
The Company has empowered me over the years by giving me opportunities in multiple roles and projects. Black Diamond has many leaders with extensive modular industry experience who have been mentors to me and act as a sounding board. It is a company of continuous growth and always strives to create a better way.
How would you describe the key to your success?
Key to my success has been my passion, hard work, and perseverance. Always ask questions to further your understanding. I have immersed myself in projects by rolling up my sleeves, getting stuck-in, adding value, and bringing my past experiences to the table. I take great pleasure in seeing a project from start to end.
What advice would you give to others who are aspiring to leadership roles?
My advice to aspiring leaders would be to seek feedback from peers and fellow leaders, have a positive attitude and have an open mind. Strive to take away “lessons learned" from either a project you participate in or from past roles so you can apply them to future projects/roles. Furthermore, getting a mentor is an important piece on the path to becoming a leadership. They provide a different perspective and a sounding board.
