Black Diamond Group was proudly nominated for two awards, in recognition of our team’s accomplishments through our Canada-Wide United Way Fundraising Campaign last November.
In Calgary, we were nominated by the United Way of Calgary and Area for a Quantum Leap Community Impact Award, which recognizes organizations and their employees who have achieved significant growth year over year, including an increase in funds raised and number of donors. This year marks the third consecutive year Black Diamond Group has been nominated for a Community Impact Award, having also received nominations for the Quantum Leap Award in 2022 and a nomination for The Power of One Award in 2021.
Outside of our home region, our Edmonton team also received a nomination from the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region’s Awards of Distinction for the Education and Engagement Award. This award recognizes the workplace campaign that increased awareness of community needs and the impact of United Way donations, showed excellence in coordinating and motivating coworkers, and achieved stronger-than-expected results in the workplace.
“I am very proud of our team members from across Canada for stepping up and creating a noticeable impact in our local communities through Black Diamond’s national United Way Fundraising Campaign,” said Trevor Haynes, Chairman & CEO. “While these accolades speak to the commitment and generosity of our most-deserving team, the real accomplishment here is our coming together in support of a good cause, ultimately leading to funds raised to improve lives.”
At Black Diamond Group, we are passionate about doing good in the communities where we live and work, with community investment initiatives that engage our employees as a focus. We know when our team members are part of our community giving efforts that’s how we make a meaningful impact, as proven every year during our Canada-wide United Way Fundraising Campaigns.
These nominations are the culmination of countless hours of hard work and creativity from our United Way Fundraising Committee, and the engagement and generosity of our team members from across Canada.
“Congratulations to this year’s winners – Canadian Natural in the Quantum Leap category, and Government of Canada – Canada Revenue Agency in the Education and Engagement Award category,” said Jonathan Stringer, VP, WFS Operations & Indigenous Partnership and executive sponsor of Black Diamond’s 2023 fundraising campaign. “It’s our honour to be nominated with this year’s slate of caring and charitable companies – and a huge thank you to our entire Black Diamond team for their contributions and support!”
