From May 23-25, 2025, Black Diamond Group proudly took part in the Gordie Howe CARES Pro-Am Hockey Tournament in Calgary. Once again, our team, the
Black Diamond Cutters, laced up their skates for an unforgettable weekend of hockey, camaraderie, and purpose. Together, our team raised nearly $110,000 in support of Alzheimer’s research and education, honouring the legacy of the late, great Mr. Hockey: Gordie Howe.
This year’s tournament generated an impressive fundraising total of over $1.5 million from participating teams, all united in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
Gordie Howe’s courageous journey with Alzheimer’s continues to inspire Canadians and the global hockey community. His legacy reminds us that Alzheimer’s can affect anyone, and that with support, advocacy and funding, we can make meaningful strides in research and care.
Why We Participate
Every five minutes, someone in Canada is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or a related form of dementia. As the disease progresses, it places a growing strain on families, friends and caregivers.
We are passionate about doing good in the communities where we work and live, with youth, family, and sport at the heart of our commitments. Our support of the Gordie Howe CARES Pro-Am reflects our belief that sport is a force for good and emboldens our mission to Create A Better Way.
