A safety-first success

Congratulations to our B.C. and Alberta offices, yards, branches and lodges, as they recently passed BCCSA and ACSA safety audits! Provincial construction safety associations perform the sought-after Certificate of Recognition (COR) safety audits every three years to re-certify organizations; internal safety audits are performed each year by our HSE Manager to ensure compliance with HSE standards and guidelines.
At Black Diamond Group, health and safety is our top priority and that safety culture extends to the many branches and business units we have worked tirelessly to establish as trusted experts in modular space and workforce solutions. These mandatory safety audits confirm and demonstrate our commitment to health and safety, our compliance with legislation and identify strengths and areas for improvements in our health and safety management systems.

Among the many requirements of a passing grade, some important considerations include:
- PPE Controls are in place
- Appropriate First Aid equipment and supplies available
- Health and Safety information readily available to affected external work site parties
- Contact names and information of HSC members or HSE representatives are posted
- Employees are using required hazard controls
- Deficiencies identified though inspections have been corrected
- Employees have access to:
- current, applicable health and safety legislation
- resources needed to support management of occupational health and safety hazards
- current, applicable health and safety legislation
Our Frontier BOXX location in Alberta and our Sukunka Lodge in Chetwynd, B.C. - two of the locations to receive re-certification this year.
In many situations, COR Certification is required to bid on contracts and secure future work, and clients often rest easier knowing that companies are COR Certified. When clients see “COR Certified” next to the Black Diamond, Britco or BOXX Modular name, they trust that we are following the necessary processes to be a safe company.
