Each year, the GEM Awards give us the opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate what truly sets Black Diamond Group apart — our people.
In 2026, team members from across our global operations in Canada, the United States, and Australia, came together to recognize colleagues who consistently go the extra mile, live our values, and make a meaningful impact on their teams, our customers, and our communities.
Going the Extra Mile
GEM — Going the Extra Mile — is a mindset that shows how our teams collaborate, solve problems, innovate, and support one another.
Through peer nominations submitted over the course of the year, GEM recipients are recognized for exemplifying excellence across a range of categories, including operational excellence, customer service, health and safety, team spirit, community involvement, and creating a better way. These awards highlight not just what our people achieve, but how they achieve it — through integrity, accountability and trust.
A Culture Built on Recognition
“When we build our teams, we look for the characteristics of dependability, respect, collaboration, innovation, determination and creativity,” said Trevor Haynes, Chairman & CEO, shared during the ceremony. “The finalists we recognize embody these characteristics. They show what’s possible when talent is paired with positive intent and a commitment to excellence.”
The GEM Awards are a longstanding Black Diamond Group tradition because recognition matters. By recognizing individual achievements, we reinforce a culture rooted in appreciation, connection, and shared success.
Honouring Commitment Through Long Service Recognition
The GEM Awards also provide an opportunity to celebrate team members who reach significant service milestones. These individuals represent years of dedication, experience, and commitment to Black Diamond Group’s purpose and growth.
Each milestone is a reminder that our success is built over time. It’s shaped by people who choose to grow their careers with us and help shape who we are today and who we aspire to be tomorrow.
This year, we recognized more than 40 individuals from across our diverse locations and businesses who celebrated five, 10, 15, 20 and 25-year tenures at Black Diamond.
“This is a remarkable achievement. The impact of this group on our success cannot be overstated,” said Haynes. “These individuals embody our commitment to excellence and serve as pillars of our success story.”
