Our Story Began in 2003

At Black Diamond Group, we believe a Company is a group of people working in concert, but that it is also an entity in its own right, ever growing and changing.

At the Company’s inception in 2003, a small group of local entrepreneurs with deep Alberta roots came together, to rent remote and temporary accommodations in a time of robust oil and gas activity in the province. In 2005, BOXX Modular was introduced, bringing modular solutions to a wide array of new clients and industries. After compounding growth year-over-year, the Company went public on the TSX in 2006 with the ticker BDI. In 2007, the Company further expanded its offering with a full spectrum of oilfield rentals to complement the existing businesses. In 2009, the Company expanded to the United States and in 2012, further grew entering the Australian market. LodgeLink, launched in 2017, has become a rapidly scaling marketplace platform that leverages technology to deliver efficiency and cost control for complex workforce travel management.

Black Diamond Group’s entrepreneurial mindset is ingrained in everything we do, and this approach has driven us forward since day one. For over 20 years, our Company has provided differentiated solutions to our customers through modular space solutions, remote lodging and accommodations and workforce travel management across Canada, the United States and Australia. 

For decades, we have focused on growing the business and building one of the best teams in the industry through meaningful acquisitions – such as Britco, Vanguard, Spencer Corporate Travel and Royal Camp Services to name just a few – coupled with capital investment in organic fleet growth and a safety-conscious, values driven, high-performance culture.  

Today, our BOXX Modular fleet includes over 12,000 units and our Black Diamond Lodging & Accommodations fleet has more than 13,000 rooms of capacity. Across the business, Black Diamond Group now has more than 10 million consolidated rentable square feet. We serve a cross-section of diverse sectors including construction, infrastructure, resources, mining education, power, financial institutions, government and military, and disaster relief.  

LodgeLink’s growing total travel segments reflect the continued scale and adoption of its workforce travel platform. This end-to-end workforce crew-travel management solution was built on our cumulative experience in remote and temporary housing, and our understanding of the complexity and inefficiencies that exist across the full workforce crew-travel cycle.
